The Role
We are seeking an experienced supervisor for a field-based role in the Midlands, supporting our operations across multiple customer sites. The successful candidate will:
- Join our established team ensuring business operations align with customer expectations and company objectives
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer requests
- Manage the performance of direct reporting team to deliver industry-leading service standards while fostering strong customer relations and communication
SQDCM Responsibilities (Key Metrics to Monitor)
Safety
- Perform and escalate risk assessments
- Monitor manual handling compliance
- Ensure proper COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) awareness and controls
- Conduct regular workplace health and safety inspections

Quality
- Create and maintain work element sheets (work instructions) with effective version control
- Train Deputy Supervisors and inspectors on work instructions, verifying proficiency using boundary samples and certification processes
- Conduct standardised work confirmations
- Lead 8D (Autoscan Practical Problem-Solving) processes when required
Delivery
- Initiate new jobs (both containment and engineering) through the internal work instruction authoring & data reporting system (EOS)
- Serve as the single point of contact for quality technicians & engineers, agreeing reporting methods and frequency
- Ensure all contaminant activity/jobs meet required customer volume targets
Cost
- Manage Direct Hour Distribution Confirmations via internal reporting systems
- Monitor and adjust containment activities for optimal efficiency
- Oversee non-chargeable hours for site performance
Morale
- Coach & mentor the direct reporting team with strong leadership and positive example
- Manage attendance and timekeeping through internal reporting systems
- Conduct "GO LOOK SEE" ('walk the area') inspections during each shift

Requirements
- Valid right to work in the UK without restrictions
- Pass a standard criminal record check (DBS)
- Previous experience in automotive manufacturing (or similar environment preferred)
- Full UK driving licence (necessary for travel requirements)
- Must be willing to travel to customer sites for field-based work
- Computer literate with strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Proven experience in a supervisory role
