Supervisor - Accounting
As a Supervisor - Accounting, you will supervise accounting staff in the day to day operations of one or more accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, ledger maintenance, revenue and asset accounting as well as associated analysis and reporting. You will oversee calculating, posting, and verification of financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records. You will maintain the integrity of accounting records by ensuring that staff complies with organization accounting policies and procedures. You will make day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department.
Responsibilities
- Develops operational plans to achieve results and ensures alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Sets goals for work group, manages execution, and measures results.
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to calculate and prepares journal entries and statements, and assists with monthly closing, including preparing accounting reports.
- Verifies accuracy of data processing for accounting information.
- Creation of statutory financials for various EMEA entities. Bridging US GAAP to Local GAAP. Identifying adjustments needed to make the financials, Local GAAP compliant.
- Review of other accountant’s statutory pack.
- Support new entities, mergers and reorganisations.
- Ensures general ledger accounts are understood, clean, and reconciled monthly.
- Researches and explains general ledger account variances to trend, budget, and prior year.
- Manages day-to-day operation of team responsible for assigned accounting function, including assigning, reviewing, and evaluating work.
- Documents procedures and identifies and implements process improvements.
- Oversees applicable accounting system including system enhancements and changes.
- Lead analysis of foreign exchange impacts across EMEA entities.
- Calculate Allocations.
- ARCs (Reconciliation platform) Maintenance
- Review Reconciliations
- Resolves account discrepancies.
- Ensures supporting tasks are completed accurately, consistently, and on time.
- Selects, manages, evaluates, and develops staff. Challenges employees, builds an effective team, develops organizational capacity, and provides staff with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities.
- Prepares monthly reconciliations and summary reports.
- Answers verbal and written inquiries, including resolving complaints.
- Assists with and coordinates special accounting projects.

Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree - Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CIMA/ACA/ACCA/ICAEW/CPA qualified preferred
- 5 years of accounting experience required
- 1+ years of supervisory experience preferred
- Microsoft packages
- Mainframe system and Access databases
- Oracle Cloud Services (General Ledger, AHCS, ARCS, EPBCS, FCCS)
- Smartview / Essbase management reporting system
- One source Thomson Reuters
- Strong accounting knowledge expected – US GAAP, financial statements, variance analysis, knowledge of EMEA Local GAAP requirements would be ideal (especially Dutch GAAP)
- Flexible approach to work during month/year end period
- Prepares accurate and complete financial reports
- Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships
- Organizes work for timely completion
- Experience working with external auditors.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
