Position Overview
Reporting to the Manager, Facilities Design & Construction, this position is responsible for the technical and coordinator aspects of the corporate facility asset management program including the corporate facility asset database management system, internal and external project management, and budgeting capital facility renewal needs.
Responsibilities
- Completes facilities and buildings capital plan by prioritizing projects at buildings owned by the City.
- Engages with all departments including local boards and joint ventures.
- Develops and assists Manager with replacement and expansion plans for corporate assets including preparation of long-term capital renewal plans based on full life cycle cost.
- Develop corporate standards for asset tracking, work-plan tracking, standard operating procedures and workflow charts.
- Attend City-wide project meetings and engage with other departments to align goals with City management.
- Identify cost effective opportunities to extend asset life in facilities.
- Lead on projects such as asset management plan, climate action plan and enterprise resource program.
- Provide asset management advisory services to internal customers.
- Supervise the development and maintenance of the City's facility asset management system including field data collection, condition assessments and development of rehabilitation and financing strategies.
- Create forecasting financial models based off current objectives and budgets.
- Provides day-to-day management of the facilities asset team, including assigning work, training, and performance management.

Requirements
- Education: Completion of a University Degree in Engineering, Finance/Budgeting, Project Management, or related field. Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) and Certified Building Code Official (CBCO) designations are assets.
- Experience: Over 4, up to 7 years of experience in asset management, preferably in the public sector.
- A valid G driver’s license is required with an acceptable driver’s abstract with no more than three (3) driving related convictions or an accumulation of no more than three (3) demerit points in the previous three (3) years prior to the date of hire, and/or no administrative driver license (ADLS) suspensions.
