Sofa.com Glasgow Showroom Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Supervisor to lead our new Glasgow showroom based within our House of Fraser department store. As the supervisor, you will be the face of Sofa.com, ensuring that every customer receives an exceptional experience from the moment they walk through our doors. You will manage the day-to-day operations of the showroom, lead a team of sales associates, and work closely with the wider team to drive sales and meet targets.

Job Description

  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage a team of sales associates, ensuring that they deliver exceptional customer service and meet sales goals.
  • Customer Experience: Ensure that every customer has a positive and memorable experience in the showroom, offering expert advice on products and helping them make informed decisions.
  • Sales Management: Drive sales by actively engaging with customers, monitoring performance, and implementing strategies to exceed sales targets.
  • Visual Merchandising: Maintain the showroom’s appearance, ensuring that all products are beautifully displayed and the showroom is inviting and reflective of the Sofa.com brand.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee stock levels, ensure accurate stock reporting, and manage product replenishment to keep the showroom fully stocked.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure that all showroom operations are carried out efficiently, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for your team, helping them to grow and succeed in their roles.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on sales performance, customer feedback, and operational issues, and present them to senior management with actionable insights.
  • Availability: Need to be flexible to work across evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a leadership position in a similar retail management role, preferably in the furniture or home decor industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for customer service.
  • A keen eye for detail and a strong sense of aesthetics, particularly in visual merchandising.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet sales targets, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage showroom operations efficiently.
  • A passion for interiors, design, and the Sofa.com brand.
  • All candidates must be over the age of 18 years and comfortable offering credit products to our customers.

Please note this is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, working 5 days over 7. It will include a mixture of daytime, evening and weekend shifts. This is a fixed-term contract position with an end date of 27 December 2026.
