Supervisor: House Supervisors

The Supervisor, Nurse supports the Department Director in overseeing daily clinical operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, supporting professional development of staff, and promoting operational efficiency in alignment with organizational goals, policies, and values. Supervisor, Nurse is an onsite position.

Essential Functions

  • Lead daily clinical and operational activities by providing oversight of staffing, resource allocation, regulatory compliance, and patient care delivery, ensuring the unit maintains standards of safety, efficiency, and excellence.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, staff, patient and their support system, and hospital leadership to coordinate care, resolve concerns, and optimize patient throughput and satisfaction.
  • Develop staff professional growth by coordinating orientation and ongoing education, assessing training needs, mentoring team members, and participating in evaluations and feedback processes.
  • Support strategic and financial initiatives by assisting in budget development, monitoring expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities, reviewing payroll, and maintaining adequate inventory and equipment functionality.
  • Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement by modeling ethical behavior, addressing staff conduct and performance issues, participating in quality initiatives, and maintaining compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Prepare, prevent, protect and respond to support our culture of safety.
  • Works hours per week in accordance with offer letter or per attributes of position at transfer request. May be expected to work longer hours as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

  • Diploma Nurse or ADN from an accredited school of nursing
  • BSN or obtained within 24 months of hire

License:

  • Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio

Experience:

  • One (1) year acute care setting

Certification:

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS (ED, PACU/Surgery, Infusion)
  • NRP (OB)

Preferred

Education:

  • Master’s degree in nursing, Business or Healthcare Administration

License:
