Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for Supervisor – Internal Only.
Full time, permanent position
24/7 shift pattern
Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB.
Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union.
Responsible for the safe operation of the plant. Ensuring the production plan can be achieved whilst escalating all issues and developing plans and strategies to overcome obstacles preventing the plan to be achieved. The job holder will be responsible for presenting results on a daily basis as well as attending and chairing team briefs, promoting a positive can do attitude, problem solving, promoting the right behaviours and using lean tools.

Essential Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring the production schedule is adhered to and be able make decision on how best to executed in line with requirements
- Ensure sufficient resource is in place, develop and execute training plans with the level 4 operators to ensure the business has the correct skills within the relevant area’s to achieve the production plan
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure successful running of the overall plant to be involved in resolving of process problems in conjunction with the Quality department and or escalate Manger as required
- Ensure a safe working environment & practices are maintained and compliance to site HSE standards across treatments
- Will complete and authorise risk assessments, COSHH assessments, manual handling assessments and CAR reports
- Responsible for presenting production KPI’s on a daily basis and to understand failures. All failures are to be supported with recovery plans developed by the job holder and signed off by their line manager
- Responsible for escalating and reporting all blockers and failures to the production plan and be responsible for developing a plan to overcome the blockers
- Will participate and lead the MRB process ensuring attendance and actions are completed in a timely manner. Will also be required to use problem solving tools such as 5Y and 8D and will be responsible to sign off the process when complete ensuring all actions are in place and stability is established
- Champion continues improvement activities within the relevant plant and present findings and results to team members
- Responsible for understanding and owning hours/ units cleared V’s planned and attended
- Will be responsible for ensuring back to work and fit for work interviews are completed within 24 hours of return to work of Team Leaders
- Conduct performance appraisal reviews in line with company procedures
- The job holder will be responsible for completing probation reviews with of team leaders. Ensuring positive and negative feedback where required is delivered in a professional and constructive way. All negative feedback should be accompanied by a support plan
- Responsible for completing all accident investigations and approving appropriate actions
- Responsible for participating and conducting in investigations
- Responsible for chairing disciplinary investigations in line with the company disciplinary policy
- Responsible for recruitment and onboarding and supervision of Team Leaders
- Participate in both internal and external audits of the treatments processes
- Coaching and mentoring of all Operators/Sprayers at levels 4 in all disciplines
- Ensure that processes and procedures are followed to ensure all tasks are performed efficiently and to the required quality standard
- Must comply with relevant Environment, Health and Safety legislation and company policies, procedures and safe working systems

Position Requirements
Essential Criteria:
- GCSE or equivalent including Maths & English
- Good verbal and written communication
- Ability to read and understand customer specifications, drawings and visual aids
- ILM level 3 in management or equivalent
- Supervisory experience
- Experience of working with large teams
Desirable Criteria:
- Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Aerospace Experience
