Responsibilities
An opportunity has arisen for a weekend shift Supervisor, reporting to Andy Tapper, Manufacturing Manager within the Alloy plant.
The successful candidate will support, supervise, and support shopfloor operations, ensuring adherence to EHS protocols, SOP’s and employee training while assisting management in overall shopfloor efficiency.
Main Responsibilities:
Operational Duties:
- Actively participate in daily production and service delivery tasks.
- Demonstrate proficiency in all job functions within the team.
- Maintain quality standards and ensures adherence to operational procedures.
- Troubleshoot issues and implement solutions to optimize efficiency.
- Daily monitoring of production and information flow paths and production rates, along with communication to management to ensure objectives and KPIs are being met.
- Maintain all quality, process management, and production standards.
- Participate in annual stock count.

Supervisory Duties:
- Oversees daily operations and assigns tasks effectively to team members.
- Provides on-the-job training and coaching to develop employees.
- Conducts performance appraisals and provides feedback.
- Addresses employee concerns and resolves conflicts promptly.
- Enforces company policies and procedures.
- Manages employee schedules and timekeeping.
- Collaborates with management on production goals and targets.
- Set clear priorities, communicate them effectively, and ensure team alignment.
- Lead and be accountable for environmental, health, and safety performance, including Human Performance and shift startups.
Leadership and Teamwork:
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Lead by example and inspire the team to achieve goals.
- Maintain open and effective communication with team members and management.
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
- Lead the team in problem-solving and process improvement initiatives.

Essential Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good computer skills.

- Effective planning, scheduling, and prioritization to meet demands while working under pressure.

Desirable
- Previous experience in a similar role, including team supervision.
- Familiarity with Howmet Business Quality Systems and department KPIs.
- Understanding of HR frameworks and managing complex employee issues.
