Careers at TCS: It means more

TCS is a purpose-led transformation company, built on belief. We do not just help businesses to transform through technology. We support them in making a meaningful difference to the people and communities they serve - our clients include some of the biggest brands in the UK and worldwide. For you, it means more to make an impact that matters, through challenging projects which demand ambitious innovation and thought leadership.

It means more to take ownership of supplier development and performance, building capability, improving manufacturing processes and supporting reliable delivery across the supply chain.

It means more to work closely with suppliers, manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and quality teams to identify capability gaps, resolve complex operational challenges and deliver sustainable improvements.

It means more to build your next career step in a role where your expertise in supplier assessments, development plans, APQP/PPAP, problem-solving, risk management and continuous improvement can make a measurable impact on quality, cost, delivery and customer satisfaction.

The Role

A Supplier Development Engineer is responsible for assessing and developing supplier capability, improving manufacturing processes and performance and ensuring suppliers consistently meet quality, cost, delivery, regulatory and customer requirements.

Your responsibilities:

  • Assess supplier capability and capacity, identify performance gaps and agree structured development plans with suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier assessments and audits to evaluate manufacturing capability, process maturity, and compliance with quality, regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Lead structured problem-solving with suppliers to contain issues, determine root causes, implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor supplier performance across quality, cost, delivery, capacity, and risk indicators and drive recovery actions where targets are not achieved.
  • Develop and implement improvement plans that increase supplier process capability, reduce defects and lead time and improve production stability.
  • Work with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality, and programme teams to deliver supplier development, industrialisation and production-readiness activities.
  • Support APQP, PPAP, process validation and production-readiness reviews to ensure suppliers can meet programme and serial-production requirements.
  • Build effective supplier relationships, escalate risks when required and promote sustainable operational excellence across the supply chain.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
