Job Description

We are looking for a Supplier Development Manager to join Airbus and be based predominantly at one of our supplier's sites across the UK. You will collaborate with the wider Airbus Procurement Operations (PO) organisation and report in to the Head of the team.

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a worldwide aircraft manufacturer and contribute to one of its major challenges; supporting and developing its Supply Chain. If successful, you would be part of a team who is redefining the way Airbus partners with suppliers and building the industry of the future driving a supportive approach in order to deliver at the highest quality.

In this role you will be accountable for leading, within and in collaboration with suppliers, complex projects/missions focused on sustainably improving the industrial performance of a supplier or a supplier’s site and/or restoring and securing supplier performances.

Tasks & Accountabilities

  • Assessing the suppliers' industrial maturity and developing suppliers accordingly:
    • Leading the detailed assessment and evaluation of the supplier’s industrial situation
    • Defining the action plan, with the supplier and SCQM, to improve or stabilize the supplier’s performance
    • Ensuring supplier and Airbus team engagement and commitment to deliver the expected results
    • Detailing the tactical plan with the various stakeholders, securing the results of the mission according to the objectives and associated roadmap defined and agreed with the internal customer
    • Identifying the necessary competences, building the team with suppliers and Airbus people, developing the skillset of the project team

Frequent travel periods and/or long stays in supplier sites will be required so you need to be available to travel accordingly.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience the aerospace or similar industry
  • Experience using Industrial and Lean competencies
  • Experience in Supply Chain Management
