About The Role
Manage multi-million-pound, medium cost and business risk assessed suppliers across multiple spend categories and work collaboratively with relevant customers and stakeholders to create and deliver significant supplier relationship value, in support of the Network Rail customer of choice ambition.

- Package: This role sits within Band 3C. Salary range £55,596 - £67,813 Depending on experience.
- Location: The successful candidate can be based in Birmingham, Manchester or Milton Keynes.
As this is a role in a regional team, regular travel across NW&C is required. Candidates should be comfortable with frequent travel to client sites, regional offices, or other business locations as needed.

Your Experience And Skills
What you'll be doing:
As a Supplier Manager, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of high-value, strategically important suppliers, ensuring they deliver maximum commercial value, performance, innovation and risk management throughout their lifecycle. Working closely with internal stakeholders, Category Managers and suppliers, you'll build strong supplier relationships, develop joint account plans, and lead governance and engagement activities to drive collaboration, service excellence and continuous improvement.

You'll play a key role in shaping supplier relationship management and supplier performance management, championing supplier-led innovation to help solve business challenges. Through effective performance management and market insight, you'll ensure suppliers consistently deliver against business needs while helping to shape and embed best-in-class supplier management practices across the organisation.
What You'll Have
- Educated to a Business or Economics degree standard or equivalent business experience
- Deep level of Procurement experience, to include Supplier Management
- Demonstrable experience of contract law and financial management
- Demonstrable level of negotiation and dispute resolution skill set
- Demonstrable experience of driving value from complex supplier contracts and relationships
- Ability to deliver defined relationship and commercial value and deliver continuous improvement value
- Experienced with agile cross-functional collaborative working methods
- Politically savvy, with the proven ability to use direct and indirect influencing strategies at an executive level
- Demonstrable level of problem-solving experience of complex supplier specific challenges
- Completer finisher mindset
We would also like but it isn't crucial to have/to be:
- Detailed knowledge of the UK Rail Industry, including procurement processes in a reclassified environment
