Description

Looking for a quality role where your expertise genuinely matters? Join CMS2 and help maintain the high standards behind innovative engineering solutions that have supported critical maritime applications for more than 60 years. You'll play a vital role in developing a quality-focused, high-performing supply chain, fostering strong supplier partnerships that create value for our customers, our suppliers, and CMS2 alike.

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for assuring the quality of products and services supplied by external suppliers, ensuring full compliance with organisational, customer, and regulatory requirements. You will drive supplier quality performance through effective quality management processes, audits, supplier development activities, and cross-functional collaboration.

This is a pivotal role in protecting the integrity of the supply chain and ensuring that end products consistently meet the high standards expected by customers and stakeholders, particularly within a regulated defence environment.

The role requires significant travel across the UK (approximately 60%). While it reports to the Operational Quality Manager based at the Portsmouth site, the position could also be suited to an individual located in the North of the UK to better support travel requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier Quality Management

    • Develop, implement, and maintain supplier quality management systems and processes.
    • Establish and communicate supplier quality standards, specifications, and quality plans.
    • Ensure supplier compliance with contractual, regulatory, and organisational requirements.
  • Supplier Evaluation and Selection

    • Evaluate and support the selection of suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service performance.
    • Conduct supplier capability assessments and approval activities.
    • Manage material quality for Stainless Steel, Aluminium, and Carbon Steel supply chains.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
