Supplier Quality Engineer – Celeros Flow Technology

About the Role

The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for optimising supplier quality performance, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and Defence Standards requirements. Working closely with Defence and Procurement teams, this role focuses on:

  • Implementing and refining sourcing strategies
  • Managing supplier quality (performance, development, and alignment)
  • Supporting operational excellence across the supply chain

The role is driven by continuous improvement, collision with internal/external stakeholders, and a collaborative mindset to deliver high-performance, sustainable solutions.


Key Responsibilities

Daily Operational Duties

  • Attend daily MRB (Management Review Board) meetings to drive task completion and closure of quality issues
  • Coordinate between manufacturing, suppliers, and internal departments to diagnose and resolve supplier-driven product or service quality issues
  • Liaise directly with vendors to ensure compliance with RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) processes
  • Validate the effectiveness of supplier-implemented corrective actions
  • Conduct data trend analysis of supplier-related issues and prepare monthly internal reports
  • Participate in weekly/monthly customer and supplier review meetings to assess performance
  • Ensure QA requirements are flowed down to suppliers in line with MoD contractual obligations

Process and Compliance

  • Perform process witnessing and First Article Inspections (FAI)
  • Conduct and document vendor audits and assessments for new and existing suppliers
  • Support Supply Chain buyers with supplier health checks (material traceability, quality alignment, and risk mitigation)
  • Align supplier operations with plant supply chain requirements through structured supplier development programmes
  • Act as an internal supplier quality liaison, advocating process improvements and collaborative problem-solving

Support and Development

  • Mentor and skill development of junior/entry-level Supplier Quality Engineers
  • Ensure adherence to Celeros Health and Safety policies and ethical working practices

Flexibility and Additional Responsibilities

  • Expect to travel frequently (road and air) for audits, meetings, or site visits
  • Contribute to special projects across different areas of the business, as needed
  • Maintain strong working relationships and effective communication at all levels

Key Requirements

Education and Qualifications

  • University or college degree in Engineering or Quality Management, or significant industry experience in manufacturing quality assurance
  • Inspection techniques knowledge, including dimensional and process control expertise
  • Foundry or machining background (highly desirable)

Technical Skills

  • Interpretation of: Quality Plans, specification requirements, engineering drawings and process documentation
  • Experience with machining or casting suppliers
  • ISO 9001 and Defence Standards understanding (optional but preferred)
  • Recognised auditing qualification (e.g., IRCA, ISO 9001 lead auditor certification) (preferred)
