We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to strengthen our Bolton production plant.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in cross-functional environments and wants to contribute to meaningful, globally relevant projects.

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Supporting Procurement department to conduct Management system and Process audits to qualify new suppliers during the selection process
  • Manage suppliers through New Product Introduction, managing project deadlines, Supplier APQP and PPAP approval
  • Schedule and conduct regular Management system and Process audits to maintain supplier approval based on supply risk
  • Deploy Astemo Supplier Quality Manual, and conduct training to develop suppliers to attain IATF 16949/VDA 6.3 were required
  • Attend supplier visits as required by the business – Audits, Development and corrective/preventive action implementation follow up as required by the business
  • Be the voice of Astemo to suppliers and the voice of suppliers into Astemo for all related Quality topics
  • Monitor and report Supplier Quality KPI’s and work with suppliers to improve their performance and reporting results within Astemo
  • Liaise with suppliers and Astemo internally to manage Corrective and preventive action
  • Manage QA related tasks through all supplier changes
  • Manage supplier rejects as required by the business

Profile and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of automotive quality standards, particularly IATF 16949, and their practical application.
  • Proficient in APQP methodologies and core quality tools, including Control Plans, Process Flow, FMEA, SPC, MSA (R&R), and PPAP.
  • Experienced in supplier quality management, including supplier audits and supplier development activities.
  • Skilled in applying structured quality methods to ensure compliance, drive continuous improvement, and support robust product and process quality.
  • HNC / HND Electrical / Mechanical Engineering as a minimum.
  • Qualified IATF/VDA 6.3 auditor
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally gained within automotive. We would consider a mechanical, electronics or high-volume manufacturing assembly background.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Salary: £38-42,000 gross annually

This position is a fixed term contract, with potential to go permanent.
