Safran Landing Systems are a global leader in aircraft landing and braking systems, from commercial and business travel to military and defence fleets.
Our expertise covers the entire life cycle of our products from end-to-end; Design, Engineering & Manufacturing, through to Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO). The Gloucester OE site has been at the forefront of landing gear technology for over 85 years, dating from the innovative designs of Sir George Dowty to advanced landing gears for the world's most modern aircraft today.
About the Role:
Join Safran Landing Systems as a Supplier Quality Engineer, where you'll work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure the highest standards of quality, compliance, and manufacturing excellence across our global supply chain. You'll play a key role in supplier development, quality assurance, new product introduction (NPI), and continuous improvement activities, helping to deliver robust, high-quality products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Drive supplier quality performance through audits, assessments, and improvement initiatives.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and the successful transfer of parts across the supply base.
- Conduct product, process, and system audits to ensure compliance with Safran and industry standards.
- Lead supplier development activities, promoting Lean practices and quality tools including APQP, PFMEA, PPAP, and DVI.
- Assess supplier capability, identify risks, and support supplier approval and performance management.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure smooth industrialisation and product integrity.
- Maintain supplier quality records and approved vendor databases to ensure accurate reporting and traceability.
- Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement to enhance quality, delivery, and operational performance.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders across the business.
- Travel regularly within the UK and internationally to support audits, supplier development, NPI activities, and urgent quality investigations.
Please note, this is a supplier-facing role requiring regular UK and international travel to conduct audits, support NPI, and assess supplier manufacturing capability. Travel is an essential part of the position, and short-notice travel may be required in response to urgent quality or supply chain issues.

What You'll Bring:
- HNC, Degree, or equivalent in Materials Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of forging, casting, and materials manufacturing processes, particularly titanium, ultra-high tensile steel, and high-grade aluminium.
- Understanding of aerospace manufacturing, component production, and New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Proven supplier quality experience, including supplier audits and quality improvement activities.
- Working knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, APQP, PFMEA, PPAP, and DVI.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
