Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer
Location: Lincoln
Contract length: 6 months contract
Work Structure: Hybrid
About the Role:
Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services, is currently recruiting for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join a world leader offering Products, Solutions, and Services across the entire Energy value chain on behalf of a well-established manufacturing organization. You will play a key role in supporting Manufacturing Operations, shaping a competitive, sustainable supply chain, and partnering globally to drive productivity, quality, and digitalization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring Supplier Performance: Act as the primary bridge between Siemens Energy and its global supply chain, focusing on managing external vendors that supply critical blades and vanes (BV).
- Quality Risk Management: Minimize quality risks and ensure all components meet strict internal quality standards.
- Technical Problem-Solving: Address and contain component non-conformances using root-cause analysis tools such as 8D and 5 Whys.
- Support Product and Process Qualifications (PPQ): Ensure parts are manufactured correctly from the start.
- Cross-Cultural Communication: Foster strong working relationships by traveling to supplier sites and engaging directly with external vendors.
- Quality Improvement Programs: Initiate and lead quality improvement programs and risk mitigation measures with underperforming suppliers.
- Data Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously monitor, track, and report on supplier quality data, actively contributing to team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Quality Management Processes: Guide and support suppliers in properly adhering to Siemens Energy Quality Management Processes, standards, and digital tools.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with experienced, internal cross-functional teams to uphold quality standards across the SGT (Small Gas Turbine) business.
- Presentation and Communication: Clearly present findings, quality risks, and data trends to all levels of the business using strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Knowledge Sharing: Maintain a close working relationship with the non-blade and vane commodity supplier quality group to share knowledge and best practices.

Essential Requirements:
- Solid background in Engineering, R&D, or manufacturing, backed by either a relevant degree or being time-served in the industry.
- Proven knowledge of drawing interpretation, specifically including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- A strong understanding of inspection methodologies and measuring capabilities.
- Solid general IT skills, including proficiency in Excel and data manipulation.
- Core proficiency in standard industry quality methods, specifically 5 Why, FMEA, 8D, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (such as ISO9001), Supplier Quality Management (SQM), and standard Quality Control routines.
- Ability to manage risk while keeping a strict focus on product functionality, delivery/cost constraints, and resource limitations.
- Proven self-starter who can independently manage unexpected supplier quality issues from start to finish.
- Ability to manage multiple complex problem investigations simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills across all business hierarchies, backed by developed diplomacy and initiative.
- Experience working within a global environment with strong cross-cultural awareness.
- Demonstrated commitment, structured work habits, collaboration, positivity, and a willingness to travel as a required part of the job.

Desirable Requirements:
- Experience working specifically with gas turbine blades or vanes.
- Hands-on experience or familiarity with specialized manufacturing methods, specifically:
- Machining
- Casting
- Surface coating technology
