Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Quality & Assurance team where you’ll play a key part in ensuring our global supply chain consistently meets the highest aerospace standards.

The position is based at our Bishops Cleeve site in Gloucestershire with regular travel required to suppliers located in the UK, EU, and US.

The Role:

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring suppliers meet aerospace quality, regulatory, and customer requirements. You’ll conduct supplier audits, support onboarding and qualification activities, perform source inspections, and drive improvements in supplier performance and compliance.

Working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, you’ll lead the resolution of supplier quality issues through effective containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions, ensuring product conformity prior to shipment.

This is a highly visible, field-based role with up to 80% travel to supplier sites, where you’ll help strengthen supplier capability, improve processes, and promote a culture of continuous improvement across the supply chain.

About you:

To be successful in this role you'll need to you’ll bring strong experience within supplier quality, compliance, or manufacturing in a regulated industry such as aerospace. You’ll have a deep understanding of relevant standards such as AS9100 and hands-on experience conducting supplier audits and managing quality issues through to resolution.

You’ll be confident working independently in a field-based role, building strong relationships with suppliers while also influencing and collaborating with internal teams. Strong problem-solving skills, including the use of recognised root cause analysis methodologies, are essential, along with the ability to communicate clearly and produce detailed, high-quality reports.

A proactive and resilient mindset is key, as is the flexibility to travel extensively, including internationally. A relevant engineering qualification and Lead Auditor certification would be highly advantageous.
