We're looking for two experienced Supplier Relations Managers to help strengthen and grow our network of coach and bus operators across the UK.
Two regional roles available, with a flexible working approach and we are happy to consider office based or remote working with regular field-based engagement 2-3 days per week:
- Wales, Midlands, Yorkshire & Lancashire
- North of England & Scotland
Candidates must have relevant experience in Supplier Relationship Management within the coach and/or bus industry. This is a non-negotiable requirement. Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence, have demonstrable experience managing supplier relationships in the coach or bus sector, and possess a strong understanding of EU driving regulations.
Applications from Supplier Relationship Managers outside of the coach and bus industry will not be considered.
About the Role
Our Supplier Relations Manager is responsible for developing, managing and optimising CMAC's supplier network within an assigned region, ensuring suppliers consistently deliver safe, compliant, commercially competitive and customer focused services.
You will act as the primary relationship owner for a portfolio of suppliers, driving supplier performance, commercial value and operational excellence. Working closely with Operations, Commercial, Finance, Planning and Procurement teams, you will ensure supplier capability and capacity remain aligned with customer demand and business requirements.
The role combines supplier relationship management, commercial oversight and operational performance management, ensuring CMAC maintains a resilient, scalable and high-performing supplier network that supports sustainable growth and exceptional service delivery.

Core Responsibilities
Supplier Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers across the assigned region.
- Act as the primary point of contact for supplier engagement and relationship management.
- Conduct regular supplier reviews, meetings and performance discussions.
- Promote collaborative partnerships that support operational and commercial objectives.
- Represent CMAC professionally in all supplier interactions.
- Support long term supplier retention and engagement strategies.
Supplier Network Development
- Identify gaps in supplier coverage and develop plans to strengthen network resilience.
- Recruit, onboard and develop new suppliers to support business requirements.
- Ensure supplier capability aligns with operational demand and growth plans.
- Work with internal stakeholders to improve supplier coverage and service provision.
- Support supplier adoption of systems, technology and operational standards.
- Drive supplier diversification to reduce dependency and improve resilience.

Performance, Compliance & Governance
- Monitor supplier performance against agreed KPIs, SLAs and contractual standards.
- Conduct supplier audits, site visits and performance reviews.
- Develop and implement supplier improvement plans where required.
- Ensure suppliers comply with legal, regulatory and company requirements.
- Support supplier governance, assurance and compliance activities.
- Escalate significant supplier risks or performance concerns when necessary.
Commercial Management & Negotiation
- Support the negotiation of supplier agreements, rates and service terms.
- Monitor supplier pricing, market conditions and commercial competitiveness.
- Identify opportunities to improve supplier value and commercial outcomes.
- Provide supplier insight to support bids, tenders and customer proposals.
- Work collaboratively with Procurement and Commercial teams on supplier strategies.
- Support the achievement of profitability and performance objectives.
Operational Support & Risk Management
- Act as a point of escalation for supplier-related service issues and operational challenges.
- Support incident investigations and corrective action activities where required.
- Identify and mitigate supplier, capacity and business continuity risks.
- Work closely with Operations and Planning teams to support service delivery requirements.
- Monitor utilisation, fulfilment and operational performance trends.
- Ensure supplier capability supports both planned and reactive operational demand.
Reporting, Insight & Continuous Improvement
- Produce supplier performance reports, scorecards and management information.
- Analyse supplier data and operational trends to support decision-making.
- Monitor market developments, competitor activity and industry changes.
- Provide recommendations that improve supplier performance and operational outcomes.
- Champion continuous improvement and innovation across the supplier network.
- Share supplier intelligence and market insight with key stakeholders.
About You
You are a relationship-focused and commercially minded professional who enjoys developing supplier partnerships and driving operational performance. You understand the importance of balancing customer requirements, operational delivery and commercial objectives to achieve sustainable success.
You are confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels and are comfortable working independently across a geographically dispersed supplier network. Organised, analytical and proactive, you enjoy solving problems, improving performance and building long-term partnerships that create value for both suppliers and the business. You thrive in fast paced, service driven environments where collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement are essential.

Your Expertise
- Experience in Supplier Relationship Management, procurement, vendor management or transport operations.
- Proven experience managing supplier networks and external partnerships.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation capability.
- Experience monitoring and improving supplier performance using KPIs and SLAs.
- Experience managing supplier onboarding, development and performance improvement initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Experience managing supplier escalations and operational challenges.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and supplier management systems.
- Experience within transport, travel, logistics, mobility or service-led industries would be advantageous.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently within assigned territories is an essential part of this role.
