Lead Solution Architect – Supply Chain Systems
We’re looking for an exceptional Lead Solution Architect, for an initial six month contract, to play a pivotal role in a major transformation of a complex, high-volume supply chain and logistics operation.
Working closely with the CTO and the wider business, you'll help define what the future technology landscape should look like, selecting the right enterprise Warehouse Management System (WMS) and designing how order management, warehousing, transport planning, carrier platforms and customer-facing systems work together.
It’s a rare opportunity to influence technology selection before the answers have already been decided, and then help take that architecture from discovery and design through to implementation and live operation.
The Opportunity
At the heart of the programme is the need to create a modern, connected supply chain ecosystem spanning orders, warehouses and transport. You’ll work closely with operational leaders, technology teams, suppliers and delivery partners to understand how the business operates today and translate that into a clear target architecture.
A major part of the role will be assessing the enterprise WMS market, defining requirements, evaluating potential solutions, challenging vendors and determining which platform genuinely fits the operation. From there, you’ll own the architecture that connects the wider ecosystem together.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
