This role has 3 main purposes:

Carlisle BFC

  • The primary purpose of the role is to ensure that WIP trays are available to meet Carlisle’s BFC plans and empty trays for Aintree’s production plans, whilst ensuring that there is no stock write-off.

Stock Counting

  • The SCC will also carry out the site-wide ingredients count, focusing on accuracy and validating stock records for all items and locations across warehouse and production areas. Identify damage, out-of-date/obsolete stock, and unrecorded movements, investigating discrepancies and driving corrective actions to improve stock accuracy, improving confidence in MRP/material availability, production planning, and customer service levels.

Supply Chain Operational Cover

  • To provide effective cover and support for key Supply Chain activities, including Production Recording, MRP, and Labour Management, ensuring continuity of operations, accurate system transactions, and reporting during periods of absence or increased workload.

Main tasks:

  • Manage the process for ensuring up to 1,500 pallets of WIP trays are stored efficiently within the Aintree warehouse.
  • Complete a minimum weekly tray stock count and reconciliation, including physical checks across all storage locations, including Aintree, WSF, and Carlisle.
  • Coordinate the delivery of up to 500 pallets per week to Carlisle, ensuring no impact on Carlisle's assortments plan.
  • Manage the age profile of WIP products, implementing controls when stock reaches 25% shelf life and ensuring stock is utilized effectively to prevent write-off.
  • Coordinate cross-site activities to mitigate potential WIP write-offs, including identification of risks and implementation of agreed actions.
  • Complete root cause analysis for any stock write-off and manage the process through to disposal.
  • Manage transport ordering for Carlisle, MDC, and segregation activities.
  • Manage pallet ordering, pallet stock levels, and resolution of booking-in issues.
  • Coordinate and communicate the monthly pallet count.
  • Produce supply chain reports, KPI updates, and data for Tier 3 and Tier 4 meetings.
  • Provide cover and support for other key Supply Chain activities, including MRP, Labour Management, and Production Recording when required.
  • Communicate weekly packaging and ingredient deliveries to key site stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
