Overview

As a Supply Chain DC Planner, you'll play a key role in making sure the right products are available in the right place at the right time. Working closely with supply chain, buying, marketing and supplier partners, you'll manage stock levels, demand forecasts and replenishment plans to support Screwfix's commitment to product availability.

This is a fast-paced, data-driven role where you'll analyse sales trends, plan for promotions and new product launches, and build strong supplier relationships to keep the supply chain running smoothly. It's well suited to someone with supply chain, logistics, inventory or commercial experience who enjoys problem-solving, working with data, and collaborating across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

  • Define and manage the system parameters and forecasts by reviewing current sales rates, and adjusting our stock profile and ordering patterns accordingly
  • Responsible for placing orders into the distribution network ensuring we have the right level of stock in the right place at the right time
  • Optimise stock and distribution centre availability alongside costs
  • Form effective relationships with suppliers, monitor supplier performance ensuring compliance and react effectively and decisively with non-conformance
  • Manage key internal relationships with buying, marketing, and operations
  • Chase bookings at DC and vendors for outstanding orders
  • Prioritise stock requirements according to business needs
  • Working with the Category teams to forecast and execute event and promotional plans within the system, to ensure orders are raised appropriately
  • Manage the execution of new line launches, from planning to implementation alongside the category teams. Influence stock levels for new products and continually review these, making changes where appropriate
  • Manage the exit of deleted SKUs and ranges in line with the Category Supply Manager
  • Manage the master data for products with STEP
  • Escalate critical issues to Line Manager as required

Qualifications

  • Dealing with key stakeholders – whether customers, suppliers or staff from other departments
  • Experience in a role which required working on multiple tasks, to tight deadlines whilst being comfortable working in a fast paced and high-pressured environment
  • Prior supply chain, inventory, logistics or commercial experience preferably within a retail environment
  • Proven skills in data analysis – able to understand and interpret financial, sales and other commercial information
  • Experienced in problem solving – able to anticipate and highlight issues, and take decisive corrective action, working within established procedures
  • Range of communication skills – able to communicate effectively with a range of audiences both orally and in writing
  • Excel skills (pivot tables/v look ups) and numerically competent
  • Managing line level sales and demand forecasts in a Retail environment
