Role Title: Supply Chain Investment Director – Full-Time Advisory and Delivery Support
Compensation
Provided on a daily rate inside IR35 via Rockford Payroll

Location
Aberdeen – primarily office-based, with attendance at internal meetings, governance forums, stakeholder engagements and site visits as required.

Role Purpose
Our client is seeking a senior investment professional to provide Director-level supply chain investment capability. The role will support the Supply Chain leadership team in identifying, appraising, structuring, executing and managing commercial investments into businesses and industrial assets that strengthen UK clean energy supply chains.
The successful individual will operate as a senior member of the Supply Chain leadership team and will bring deep expertise in transaction execution, corporate finance and investment delivery, with a strong track record in energy supply chains or equivalent sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead origination, appraisal, structuring, negotiation and execution of direct investment opportunities.
- Provide senior commercial leadership across the full investment lifecycle.
- Prepare high-quality investment papers, board materials, transaction recommendations and decision records.
- Oversee financial modelling, valuation analysis, due diligence outputs, risk assessments and commercial advice.
- Advise on transaction structures, shareholder rights, covenants, conflicts management, adviser appointments, accounting treatment and value-for-money considerations.
- Support development and management of a robust investment pipeline aligned to the clients supply chain strategy and Energy, Engineered in the UK objectives.
- Contribute to investment policies, portfolio reporting and performance management frameworks.
- Design and implement a development plan for existing staff, including knowledge transfer, coaching and upskilling.
- Engage with government, public finance institutions, industry, investors, lenders, developers, manufacturers and other counterparties where appropriate.
- Provide leadership, coaching and capability building for the Supply Chain investment team.
- Deliver regular progress updates to the Commission Lead and relevant governance forums, including risks, issues, dependencies and decisions required.

Essential Requirements
- Significant senior experience in corporate finance, private equity, venture capital or M&A.
- Proven track record of originating, structuring and executing complex commercial investments or transactions.
- Demonstrable experience in energy supply chains or a closely equivalent sector.
- Strong investment appraisal, financial modelling, valuation and due diligence capability.
- Experience preparing materials for senior governance, board and approval processes.
- Ability to operate credibly at Director level with senior stakeholders and governance bodies.
- Strong commercial judgement, negotiation skills and understanding of public-sector investment environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively across Finance, Legal, Risk, Governance, Commercial, Procurement, People, Communications and Strategy functions.
- Commitment to knowledge transfer, coaching and internal capability building.
- Must be based in Aberdeen and available full time from the start date.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with public sector bodies, government-backed investment programmes or public finance institutions.
- Exposure to clean energy, industrial strategy, infrastructure or supply chain investment.
- Experience managing portfolio performance and post-investment monitoring.
- Familiarity with governance, delegations, confidentiality and risk management in regulated environments.

Working Arrangements
- Full-time commitment required.
- Primarily based in Aberdeen.
- Must be able to attend meetings, governance forums and site visits as needed.
- Must operate in line with client policies, delegations, governance requirements, confidentiality obligations and risk appetite.
