Supply Chain Manager | Manufacturing | Witney | £50,000pa plus bonus & benefits

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Supply Chain Manager to join a well-established specialist manufacturer in the Witney area. With growth plans to scale their £100m turnover business to over £200m over the next 5 years, the Supply Chain Manager will lead and manage the purchasing function for the business unit, ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of raw materials, components, finished goods, and indirect to support customer demand and manufacturing operations.

This Supply Chain Manager role would perfectly suit a purchasing professional who enjoys navigating between the day-to-day hands-on supply negotiations and supporting your Purchasing Executive, with more strategic supply chain duties like:

  • Relationships with suppliers around quality, service, and innovation
  • Identifying, evaluating, and implementing new sourcing opportunities

You will also be able to work collaboratively across operations, planning, engineering, and quality, representing Supply Chain and Purchasing.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with a commercial and cost-conscious approach.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of making informed decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in the use of ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members while fostering a collaborative working environment.
  • Good understanding of procurement, inventory management, and supply chain principles.

Desirable:

  • Polymer & Plastics Industry / Injection Moulding Manufacturing:
    • Experience sourcing and managing suppliers of polymers, colourants, additives, and injection moulded components, with knowledge of material cost drivers and supply market dynamics.
  • Managing EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) Partners:
    • Strong knowledge of electronic component supply chains, including PCBs, batteries, sensors, semiconductors, and electromechanical assemblies.
