About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Interim Supply Chain Manager to Lead the Procurement Team, while developing and executing a comprehensive supply chain strategy that supports operational readiness and customer demands. This is a fixed term contract - covering Maternity leave.

This role will establish and maintain effective procurement and inventory control systems, taking full responsibility for inventory levels through accurate planning and forecasting supported by historical and projected data. You will build and manage strong supplier relationships to ensure reliable sourcing, negotiate optimal terms, and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.

Duties

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with organisational goals, focusing on continuous improvement and process optimisation.
  • Lead the Procurement Team by supervising, coaching, and developing staff, ensuring effective task allocation and high performance.
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies that secure optimal commercial terms and maintain a reliable, high-quality vendor base.
  • Oversee the analysis of product sales, demand patterns, and market trends using historical and projected data to inform decision-making.
  • Establish, monitor, and maintain optimal safety stock levels and product mixes to meet operational and customer demand.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to support major sales opportunities with appropriate stock availability and supply planning.
  • Hold final accountability for global inventory financial levels, recommending corrective actions for overstock and understock situations.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to build, maintain, and continuously refine the inventory forecast, responding quickly to emerging trends and changes.
  • Work closely with the Purchasing Team to ensure accurate forecasting and availability for NPI (New Product Introduction) and NOOS (Never Out of Stock) product lines.
  • Oversee and control the performance of shipping agents, freight forwarders, and hauliers to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient inbound goods receipt.
  • Identify, lead, and manage cost-saving initiatives across the supply chain, reporting outcomes and driving continuous improvement.
  • Foster strong inter-departmental communication to support alignment, transparency, and effective cross-functional collaboration.

  • Proven experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
  • Strong analytical and organisational capabilities, with a proven ability to interpret data and drive informed decisions.
  • High attention to detail combined with the capacity to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and projects simultaneously.
  • Confident and effective communicator, able to engage clearly and professionally at all levels of the organisation.
  • Resilient under pressure, maintaining focus, accuracy, and direction in fast-paced or high-demand environments.
