As a Senior Supply Chain Manager for Gas & Steam Turbines Global Category within the Project Procurement team of RWE Technology International (RWETI), you will be part of the Global Category team supporting supply agreements for gas and steam equipment, including turbines and engines, across RWE Generation and Technology’s global project portfolio. You will drive strategic procurement activities, supplier management, and commercial strategies to secure competitive, reliable, and innovative supply solutions.
About the Role
- Lead strategic sourcing activities for gas turbines, steam turbines, and gas engines while functionally coordinating across multiple RWE business units, regions, and technology areas.
- Develop, implement, and manage procurement strategies focused on value creation, savings potential, securing capacity, new sourcing channels, supplier engagement, supplier development, and innovation.
- Manage supplier markets through supplier scouting, qualification, global sourcing, competitive supply channel development, and active supplier relationship management.
- Lead the full sourcing process including demand and market analysis, RFI/RFP processes, negotiations, contracting, supplier awarding, and alignment with RWE procurement policies and processes.
- Develop optimised contract templates and commercial frameworks for gas turbines, steam turbines, and gas engines to capture synergies and improve efficiency across technologies and business areas.
- Act as the procurement and commercial point of contact throughout the project delivery lifecycle, managing supply contracts through execution and close-out, including an effective Lessons Learned (LeLe) process and integration of supplier performance insights into future sourcing and supplier management strategies.
- Coordinate interfaces across RWE, including project procurement managers, RWETI Technology pillars, global category managers/directors, finance, engineering, legal, and HSE teams.
- Drive cross-functional and cross-border collaboration while ensuring alignment between OpCo needs, GCD targets, and central procurement processes.

Job Requirements and Experience
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking with expertise in sourcing and negotiating contracts for power generation equipment, particularly gas turbines, steam turbines, and gas engines.
- Extensive experience in strategic procurement or strategy roles, ideally within gas turbine/engine manufacturing or the power generation industry.
- Proven ability to identify and assess commercial risks and develop effective risk prevention and control strategies in changing market environments.
- Experience drafting, negotiating, and managing major supply, construction, or operational contracts involving high value and complexity.
- Ability to manage multiple contract packages, lead multidisciplinary teams, and coordinate diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Relevant academic background in procurement, economics, engineering, business, or legal disciplines is desirable.
- Strong intercultural understanding and experience working across different cultures and international environments.
- Excellent English communication skills, willingness to travel, and flexibility to support international projects through temporary stays abroad.
