Supply Chain Manager - Material Planning
International Manufacturing | SAP IBP Transformation | Team Transformation | Culture Awareness
Could this be the opportunity to take ownership of a supply chain function rather than simply manage one?
If you're an experienced Supply Chain professional who enjoys working where planning, manufacturing, technology, and people leadership come together, this could be an opportunity worth exploring.
You'll take ownership of an established international supply planning function supporting thousands of tonnes of annual production, 300+ products, and more than 1,000 customers across global industrial markets. The scale is significant. So is the opportunity to make a difference.
What makes this role interesting?
You'll lead a local team in the UK and influence international transformation in Europe while helping shape how supply planning operates across the wider organization. The business has already invested heavily in transforming its supply chain processes. You'll now have the opportunity to build on that work, further developing the team, standardising processes, and driving greater automation through SAP and SAP IBP.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You'll have genuine influence over how the function develops—not simply responsibility for keeping today's plans on track.
What you'll be doing
You'll lead supply planning across tactical, mid-term, and strategic horizons, balancing:
- Customer demand and service
- Production capacity and constraints
- Inventory and working capital
- Raw material availability
- Supply chain cost
- Commercial priorities
You'll also work closely with manufacturing, procurement, logistics, product management, and commercial teams, providing the analysis and recommendations needed when supply, capacity, or customer priorities compete.
A major part of your remit will be digital transformation and process improvement. You'll act as a key user for the Forecast-to-Produce process and help drive the continued adoption and optimisation of SAP IBP Supply & Response.
Where you can make an impact
This is particularly suited to someone who enjoys improving the way things work. You'll have the opportunity to:
- Develop and lead an international planning team
- Strengthen S&OP / IBP processes

- Automate and standardise manual processes
- Improve SAP / IBP adoption
- Develop supply chain KPIs and governance
- Manage critical supply and capacity constraints
- Build stronger capabilities across the team

What's in it for you?
This isn't simply a role where you'll inherit a team and maintain the status quo. You'll have international scope, leadership responsibility, and significant influence over the future direction of the supply planning function.
You'll be joining a business where the complexity of the operation creates genuine opportunities to improve processes, develop people, and make measurable commercial and operational improvements.
The role offers hybrid working, with key on-site collaboration.
