Bela Recruitment is hiring a Supply Chain Manager (Senior Buyer), in Cookstown, Co.Tyrone, Northern Ireland.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will lead supply chain functions and oversee all aspects of procurement, logistics and inventory management, whilst optimizing supply chain and building strong supplier relationships.

  • Develop and implement industry sourcing strategies to identify reliable suppliers, negotiate favourable contracts and ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials at competitive prices.
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage supplier relationships.
  • Work with R&D team to source products and materials to support an expansion of the product range.
  • Optimize inventory levels to balance supply and demand, minimizing stock holding costs while avoiding stockouts. Implement and maintain inventory control systems and procedures.
  • Collaborate with sales and production teams to develop accurate demand forecasts and ensure that supply plans are aligned with business needs. Understand sales performance and anticipated trends based on internal/external factors. Translating this into a production forecast to be agreed with third party suppliers.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve supply chain processes.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and systems to improve supply chain visibility.
  • Develop and manage the supply chain budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards related to procurement, logistics, and safety.
  • Reports on all key supply chain metrics - inventory levels, supplier performance, and logistics costs. Analyse for improvement.
  • Work closely with other departments, including sales, production, finance, and customer service and quotes team, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of supply chain activities.

Requirements

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Alternatively - 3 years experience at a similar level, ideally from an Engineering / Manufacturing type business.
  • Recent and extensive experience in an operations and supply chain management role within a warehouse and production environment.
  • Working knowledge of International imports, transportation, tariffs and duties.
  • Demonstrable understanding of supply chain principles, best practices, and performance metrics.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, strong IT skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

You MUST already be living in the Mid-Ulster area of Northern Ireland and willing/able to drive to Cookstown office daily. We can't provide Visa Sponsorship and not interested in people relocating to the area just for work.
