Reporting to Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Location: London with travel
Salary Range: 45k-50k (depending on experience)

Role Overview

We are looking for a Supply Chain & Operations Manager to support the continued growth of HomeCooks.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring our operations run smoothly across supply chain, inventory management, fulfilment, customer experience, systems, and reporting.

You will sit at the centre of the business, working closely with chefs, suppliers, warehouse operations, customer service, and technology platforms to ensure we continue to deliver an exceptional customer experience while scaling efficiently.

This is a hands on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and helping a growing business operate at its best.

Core Responsibilities

Supply Chain & Supplier Management

  • Manage day to day relationships with chefs, producers, and suppliers
  • Source and onboard new suppliers and products where required
  • Monitor supplier performance and product quality
  • Ensure food safety standards and compliance are maintained across all partners
  • Ensure temperature controlled supply chains remain robust and scalable
  • Monitor product availability and proactively resolve supply issues
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and production partners

Invoicing & Supplier Administration

  • Manage supplier invoicing processes
  • Verify invoices against agreed pricing and deliveries
  • Reconcile goods received against invoices
  • Work with finance to resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate supplier records
  • Ensure supplier costs are accurately captured and reported

Forecasting & Inventory Management

  • Own inventory planning across food, packaging, and consumables
  • Forecast demand and communicate purchasing requirements to suppliers
  • Ensure stock availability while minimising waste
  • Manage inventory reporting and stock reconciliation
  • Monitor stock accuracy across warehouse and systems
  • Support new product launches and promotional planning
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels to support customer demand

Warehouse & Fulfilment Oversight

  • Line manage the Warehouse Manager
  • Set operational standards and performance expectations
  • Ensure warehouse operations support business objectives
  • Monitor fulfilment accuracy, productivity, and service levels
  • Review warehouse performance metrics and implement improvements
  • Ensure stock accuracy across physical inventory and systems
  • Work with the Warehouse Manager to resolve operational challenges
  • Ensure adequate staffing, training, and operational readiness
  • Maintain accountability for successful fulfilment and dispatch operations

Logistics & Delivery

  • Manage relationships with delivery partners such as DPD
  • Monitor delivery performance and service levels
  • Investigate delivery issues and customer complaints
  • Improve delivery success rates and customer satisfaction
  • Manage returns, refunds, and redelivery processes
  • Continuously improve the customer delivery experience

Customer Experience

  • Ensure customer enquiries are handled accurately and promptly
  • Monitor customer feedback and identify recurring themes
  • Support customer retention through excellent service
  • Work with the wider team to improve customer satisfaction
  • Ensure customers receive clear and timely communication

Systems, Website & Product Management

  • Own physical product setup and management within Shopify
  • Ensure products, variants, bundles, and subscriptions are correctly configured
  • Maintain pricing, availability, and product information
  • Ensure inventory and product data remain accurate
  • Support new product launches and website updates
  • Troubleshoot operational issues affecting orders and subscriptions

Systems & Technology

  • Own Shopify operational processes
  • Ensure subscription systems function reliably
  • Maintain operational reporting and dashboards
  • Use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to improve efficiency and support decision making
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
  • Ensure operational systems remain accurate and effective

Data, Reporting & Performance

  • Monitor key performance indicators across operations, fulfilment, customer service, and supply chain
  • Maintain reporting dashboards and performance tracking
  • Use data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Support business planning through accurate reporting
  • Ensure operational decisions are supported by reliable data

Team & Leadership

  • Directly manage key operational functions including warehouse operations and customer service
  • Develop and support team leaders and managers
  • Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
  • Ensure teams are aligned with business objectives and performance targets
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of operational team members

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency

Key Requirements

  • Experience within food, Direct to Consumer (D2C), eCommerce, hospitality, or Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) operations
  • Strong understanding of food safety and temperature controlled supply chains
  • Experience managing suppliers, inventory, and operational processes
  • Strong organisational and problem solving skills
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of operational costs
  • Experience using Shopify or similar platforms
  • Comfortable working with data, reporting, and systems
  • Confident using AI tools to improve productivity and efficiency
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Proactive, organised, and able to work independently
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced and growing business
  • Willingness to travel when required
