Supply Chain and Logistics Coordinator
Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Hours: Monday to Friday dayshift
Salary: £30000.00
Based: 100% site based
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Supply Chain and Logistics Coordinator to join a well-established consumer goods business. This role sits within the Supply Chain function and is responsible for coordinating freight movements, supporting customs compliance activities, managing logistics partners, and ensuring products are delivered on time and within budget.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, manufacturing partners, distribution centres, and freight providers, you will help drive operational efficiency, maintain service levels, and support across international markets.
Key Responsibilities
Freight & Logistics
- Monitor logistics performance against agreed KPIs and identify opportunities for service improvements and cost savings.
- Conduct regular reviews of shipment performance and service levels with global distribution centres.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline transportation and shipping activities.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
- Lead operational reviews with distribution centres, resolving issues relating to deliveries, packaging, and stock handling processes.
- Monitor critical inbound shipments, samples, and key delivery deadlines.
- Liaise with international manufacturing partners to ensure smooth movement of goods through the supply chain.
- Support Operations, Planning, and Purchasing teams with freight cost analysis and scenario planning.
- Manage relationships with freight forwarding providers and conduct regular business reviews.
- Act as a key point of contact for courier and logistics-related matters.
- Review and approve freight and courier invoices.
- Monitor logistics spend and supplier performance.

Customs & Compliance
- Carry out monthly audits of customs and import data to ensure accurate duty payments and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of:
- Commodity/HS codes
- Tariff classifications
- Product values
- Country of origin information
- Applicable duty rates
- Review and approve customs declarations and freight invoices.
- Support preparation for customs and regulatory audits.
- Ensure compliance with import and export procedures across all markets.
- Build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support smooth operational activity.
- Review freight provider performance and support tender exercises where required.
- Maintain accurate delivery schedules and lead times within ERP systems.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and efficiencies across the supply chain function.
- Participate in and support cross-functional improvement projects.
- Contribute to ongoing operational and customer service enhancements.
About You
We are looking for a highly organised supply chain professional with strong logistics and customs knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Skills & Experience
- 2-3 years' experience within logistics, supply chain, freight, customs, or operations.
- Strong understanding of customs regulations, import/export procedures, shipping documentation, and Incoterms.
- Experience reviewing customs or import data and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Excellent planning, organisation, and coordination skills.
- Strong analytical ability with experience interpreting large volumes of data.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to build relationships across both internal teams and external partners.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Experience using ERP systems and supply chain software.
Desirable
- Previous experience managing third-party logistics providers or freight forwarders.
- Knowledge of international distribution and global supply chain operations.
