Supply Chain Project Manager
Location: Didcot
Salary: Up to £80,000
Type: Permanent
I’m currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Project Manager to join a growing, technically complex business operating across high-value engineering programmes.
This is a project-led supply chain position where you’ll take ownership of complex supplier relationships and ensure the external supply chain supports successful programme delivery.
You’ll work across supply chain strategy, procurement, supplier selection, commercial and contract management, project planning, supplier performance, risk, quality and delivery, working closely with technical and programme teams.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing supply chain activity across assigned programmes, ensuring suppliers and subcontractors deliver against agreed cost, quality, schedule and technical requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing project-specific supply chain and procurement strategies.
- Identifying long-lead items, critical suppliers and key supply chain dependencies.
- Supporting bids with supplier strategies, quotations, cost inputs, risks and commercial assumptions.
- Leading supplier selection, RFP/RFQ activity and supplier due diligence.
- Supporting contract and subcontract negotiations alongside Commercial and Legal teams.
- Managing key suppliers against agreed milestones, KPIs and delivery requirements.
- Monitoring supplier schedules, challenging delays and driving recovery plans.
- Managing supplier risks and escalating issues where required.
- Establishing supplier reporting and governance arrangements.
- Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Commercial and Project Management teams.
- Ensuring customer and contractual requirements are appropriately flowed down to suppliers.
- Managing supplier delivery, acceptance and subcontract closure.

About You
We’re looking for someone with proven experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Subcontract Management or Supply Chain Project Management, ideally within a complex project or programme environment.
You should have:
- Experience managing suppliers against cost, quality, schedule and technical requirements.
- Experience developing procurement or supply chain strategies.
- Experience with supplier selection and RFP/RFQ processes.
- Strong supplier performance and relationship management experience.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, risk management and reporting.
- Good commercial awareness, with an understanding of the impact of supplier decisions on cost, margin, schedule and risk.
- Experience working with contractual requirements and supplier terms and conditions.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- The confidence to challenge suppliers and drive actions through to completion.

Desirable
- Experience within aerospace, space, defence, electronics, engineering or other high-technology sectors would be highly advantageous.
- Experience with development and qualification programmes, long-lead/high-value products, UK Government/MOD requirements, DEFCONs/DEFFORMs, export controls or supplier quality/Product Assurance would also be beneficial.
