About Springfields Fuels Ltd (SFL)
Springfields Fuels Ltd (SFL), operated by Westinghouse Electric Company (WEC), is the UK's only nuclear fuel manufacturing site. For over 75 years, we've been at the forefront of nuclear fuel technology, producing advanced fuel products that support clean, reliable, and secure energy generation both in the UK and globally.
Our continued success depends not only on the integrity of our operations but also on compliance of our supply chain. As part of our commitment to the highest standards of safety, security, and quality, we are strengthening our supplier assurance capability and seeking a Supply Chain Security Advisor to join our team.
Role Overview
As a Supply Chain Security Advisor you will:
- Undertake the evaluation, monitoring, and improving the security posture of SFL's supply chain.
- Work collaboratively with all relevant departments within SFL to ensure our suppliers meet the required standards of security to hold SFL and WEC information.
- Support adherence with regulatory security requirements and industry security standards & frameworks, and ensuring that the security risks to our business from suppliers are minimized.
This is a development role, which may occasionally be required to support other managers within the wider Security Team.

You will report to the Supply Chain Security Assurance Manager and be located at Springfields Fuels site.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Supply Chain Security Assurance Manager and other key internal stakeholders with all aspects of supplier security assurance, including impact assessments, assurance reviews/audits, and security aspects letters.
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of all supply chain security assurance activities, as directed by the Supply Chain Security Assurance Manager.
- Lead on the production of internal and regulatory reporting for supply chain security matters, including dashboards for use at senior management meetings and committees.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of SFL's supply chain security arrangements, ensuring alignment with internal policies and regulatory expectations.
- Build relationships with relevant departments to embed supply chain security assurance activities as a 'business as usual' process.
- Work closely with the Procurement teams to ensure security arrangements are integrated and effective within the procurement processes.
- Support the coordination and administration of any supply chain security breaches and subsequent incident investigations.
Experience & Knowledge
- Previous experience working in the civil nuclear sector, or other highly regulated sector, preferably in a supply chain security, other security, procurement, or assurance role, is desirable.
- Excellent proficiency of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, is necessary.
- An understanding of UK regulatory requirements and industry standards relating to supply chain security is desirable.

Qualifications & Certifications
- A relevant professional security and/or assurance qualification/certification, or willingness to undertake such a qualification.
- Member of a recognised security body, e.g., The Security Institute, or willingness to join.
