Manufacturing & Supply Planner
Location: Swindon
Department: Supply Chain
We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing & Supply Planner to join an established manufacturing operation in Swindon.
This is a hands-on role responsible for planning production, materials and supply activities to ensure customer demand is met on time, while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and supporting efficient manufacturing performance.
You will take ownership of end-to-end planning across manufacturing operations, balancing production capacity, material availability, inventory and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain production and supply plans to meet customer demand
- Manage production schedules and materials planning
- Monitor material availability and inventory levels
- Manage supplier forecasts, purchase orders and deliveries
- Identify and communicate potential supply and service risks
- Support new product introductions and product lifecycle activities
- Coordinate transport and distribution requirements
- Manage excess and obsolete inventory
- Maintain accurate planning data within ERP systems
- Analyse data and produce reports to support decision-making
- Work closely with Production, Procurement, suppliers, customers and other key stakeholders
- Support continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives

About You
You will have previous experience within a manufacturing planning, supply chain or operations environment, with practical experience of:
- Production scheduling and materials planning
- Inventory management
- ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- Working to KPIs, service levels and operational targets
- Managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Analysing data and making informed planning decisions
- Working collaboratively across multiple functions and stakeholders

Experience of S&OP, supplier scheduling, procurement or continuous improvement would be advantageous.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, JIT or ISO13485 would be advantageous.
A degree is not essential. Relevant vocational qualifications, an apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience will be considered.
