Join us as a Supply Chain Support Lead

In this varied and engaging role, you'll support and deliver supply chain solutions and third-party oversight that enable business owners to establish appropriate supplier relationships in support of NWM's strategic goals. You'll work with business owners, contract owners, Supply Chain and risk specialists, supporting supplier onboarding and relationship management while helping assess supplier risk and materiality. The work you do will improve the customer experience and ensure supplier relationships deliver expected business outcomes within our cost and risk appetite expectations.

What you'll do

As a Supply Chain Support Lead, you'll support business owners to establish and maintain appropriate third-party relationships aligned to NWM's strategic goals. You'll provide oversight of supplier risk and materiality assessments, and help translate supplier, contract, incident and control information into clear actions and decisions.

As well as managing risks, you'll maintain process maps, standard operating procedures and other documentation related to third-party processes. You'll co-ordinate and guide global business and contract owners through relevant assessments and work with Supply Chain and other specialists to resolve gaps, support proportionate decisions and maintain an appropriate audit trail.

As well as this, you'll:

  • Champion sustainability by supporting our environmental, social and governance (ESG) approach
  • Support contract owners to complete proportionate supplier risk and materiality assessments, challenging the quality and completeness of supporting evidence
  • Review supplier incidents and control or performance information to draw clear conclusions on NWM's risk exposure where a third-party supplier is the root cause or a material contributor
  • Use supplier dashboards, risk appetite measures, assurance results and contract information to identify emerging risks, gaps and required actions
  • Deepen relationships with Supply Chain, Technology, Operational Resilience, Information Security, Legal, Risk and business stakeholders to support effective supplier decisions and governance

The skills you'll need

We're looking for someone with supply chain, third-party risk management, supplier oversight or operational risk experience, together with the judgement to balance business outcomes and risk. You'll have sufficient knowledge of ICT contracts to understand the risks and benefits they create, including service levels, data and security, audit and access rights, subcontracting, resilience, termination and exit provisions.

Furthermore, you'll demonstrate:

  • Experience of applying supply chain skills and techniques to impact business strategy and outcomes and supplier selection and management
  • Experience of assessing supplier risk and materiality, challenging evidence and guiding contract owners and subject-matter experts through proportionate, well-documented decisions
  • A broad understanding of global regulatory expectations for third-party risk management, outsourcing, ICT third-party risk and operational resilience
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, including the ability to identify risk exposure from supplier incidents and present clear recommendations to senior stakeholders
