Role Description
Manufacturing Engineering is a supporting function within the supply chain. The role of the team is to support both the procurement organisation and external suppliers to enable the manufacture of bought out airframe parts. Our support extends throughout the procurement lifecycle, including supplier capability assessment, supplier approval, providing the suppliers with correct standards of engineering data, helping suppliers with queries and applying for concessions. We interface with the wider project engineering teams for support with technical challenges, design and ME change.
Core Duties
- Interrogate multi levels of the bill of material and create manufacturing data packs for suppliers in support of detail and assembly manufacturing solutions
- Support multiple airframe platforms (legacy, current and future) using both legacy and latest toolsets
- Manage work flow into the team, triage of requests, tracker maintenance and priority management
- Engage in a continuous improvement culture and strive to develop our processes for efficiencies, effectiveness and customer excellence

Essential skills
- Experience in the manufacturing sector/a relevant industry with good working knowledge of toolsets
- Understanding of technical drawings, specifications and configuration control
- Proven history of managing data flow through internal and external organisations
- Good knowledge of Microsoft toolsets, e.g., Excel
The Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineering Team
By joining the Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineering Team, you’ll play a key part in supporting the manufacture of airframe parts. You’ll collaborate with external suppliers and wider engineering teams, providing technical data, resolving manufacturing queries and supporting technical challenges and engineering change throughout the procurement lifecycle.
