What you’ll do:
The Supply Planner is the business planning authority for the mid- and long-range supply horizon, owning the rolling 3-to-24-month constrained supply plan through Eaton's Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process. The role translates the consensus demand plan into a feasible supply response by integrating capacity, materials, labor, tooling, supplier, inventory, logistics, and network constraints and by bringing forward scenarios and recommended trade-offs for leadership decisions.
Reporting to the SIOP Leader, this regional individual-contributor role leads the Supply Review for the assigned business, region, product line, or value stream and connects strategic and tactical planning to execution. The Supply Planner establishes the supply direction and planning assumptions that Network Planners, Master Schedulers, Buyers, and other execution teams convert into executable schedules.
Job responsibilities:
- Own the rolling 3-to-24-month constrained supply plan and supply-side inputs to the monthly SIOP cycle, reconciling consensus demand with available and planned capacity.
- Lead the Supply Review for the assigned scope, consolidating constraints and assumptions across manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and the network; resolve issues at the planner level and escalate unresolved gaps with options and recommendations.
- Perform rough-cut capacity planning across labor, equipment, lines, tooling, suppliers, and critical materials; distinguish structural constraints from short-term execution noise.
- Develop base, upside, downside, and what-if scenarios that quantify service, revenue, inventory, cost, cash, and capacity trade-offs and enable timely leadership decisions.
- Identify supply, capacity, and lead-time risks early enough to enable mitigation, including capital, staffing, sourcing, supplier qualification, make-versus-buy, shift, pre-build, and inventory actions.
- Translate the strategic supply plan into inventory, safety-stock, and pre-build strategies and provide a clear, resourced, and risk-flagged handoff as the horizon moves into network and execution planning.
- Partner with Demand Planning, Finance, Operations, Procurement, Logistics, Product Management, and Commercial teams to align the supply plan with the Annual Operating Plan, rolling financial forecasts, and portfolio priorities.
- Evaluate supply implications of new product introductions, phase-outs, promotions, sourcing changes, footprint decisions, and major commercial opportunities.
- Own or validate planning assumptions and scenario inputs, including demonstrated capacity, yields, lead times, planning bills, sourcing rules, constraint parameters, and inventory policies, while partnering with data owners for system maintenance.
- Create decision-quality analytics and clearly communicate risks, options, assumptions, financial implications, and required decisions to senior business leaders.
- Drive adoption of Eaton standard work, common definitions, digital planning tools, and planning governance; improve data quality, process maturity, and planning capability across the assigned scope.
- Track action closure and measure supply-plan effectiveness by horizon, ensuring decisions and mitigations are carried into execution.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
