About The Role

Vision for Education is recruiting experienced teachers for general cover roles in Primary, Secondary and SEND schools across Birmingham, providing opportunities to work across a variety of subjects, Key Stages, and school settings.

The Role

As an experienced Teacher providing general cover, you will:

  • Deliver lessons across multiple subjects, following existing schemes of work
  • Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Maintain high standards of student behaviour and engagement
  • Support learning for students across EYFS to KS2 (Primary), KS3 to KS5 (Secondary), or within SEND and alternative provision settings
  • Assist with exam preparation, assessments, and classroom administration
  • Work closely with teaching staff to ensure smooth lesson handovers
  • Gain experience across different schools, departments, and educational settings

Requirements

To be considered for this general cover teaching role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Recent teaching experience within Primary, Secondary, SEND or alternative provision settings
  • Confidence delivering lessons in multiple subjects (general cover experience is advantageous)
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to adapt to new schools and teaching environments
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
