Supply Teaching Assistants - September

We are looking for flexible Supply Teaching Assistants to work across schools in South East London from September.

This is a great opportunity for university students, graduates, or anyone studying subjects such as Psychology, Childcare, Education, Criminology, Health and Social Care or Youth Work who wants to gain hands-on school experience around their studies.

If you are in university 2 or 3 days per week and want to work on your free days, supply work can be a perfect way to build experience, earn money and develop your confidence in a classroom setting.

Role Details

  • Position: Supply Teaching Assistant
  • Location: South East London
  • Pay: £100-£117 per day
  • Hours: Flexible / Part-time / Ad hoc supply
  • Start Date: September
  • School Type: Primary, Secondary and SEN Schools

The Role

As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils in class on a 1:1, small group or whole-class basis
  • Assist teachers with learning activities and classroom routines
  • Help pupils stay focused, engaged and confident in their learning
  • Support pupils with additional needs where required
  • Encourage positive behaviour and participation throughout the school day
  • Gain experience across different schools, year groups and settings
  • Choose work around your university timetable and availability

  • A genuine interest in working with children or young people
  • Availability for at least 1-3 days per week from September
  • A background or studies in Psychology, Childcare, Education, Criminology, Health and Social Care, Youth Work or similar
  • A patient, reliable and positive approach
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
  • Previous school, nursery, tutoring, mentoring, coaching or care experience is desirable
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
