An Exciting Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Support and Field Engineer (Hybrid role) to join TMB Systems, a well-established, fast-growing technology services provider delivering industry-leading IT and communications solutions to the hospitality sector.

The Role

As a Support and Field Engineer (Hybrid role), you will play a key role in supporting and delivering technology solutions across our hospitality client base throughout the UK and Europe. This is a varied position that combines on-site engineering, project delivery, and remote Service Desk support.

You will be responsible for maintaining, installing, and optimising IT and communications infrastructure while ensuring exceptional levels of customer service. Working closely with Project Managers, Technical Teams, and clients, you will help deliver reliable and innovative technology solutions that underpin critical business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Field Engineering & Project Delivery

  • Travel regularly to customer sites across the UK and Europe.
  • Conduct IT infrastructure surveys and produce detailed findings and recommendations.
  • Install, configure, test, and commission IT and communications equipment.
  • Deploy and support servers, firewalls, switches, routers, wireless solutions, workstations, and associated infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, network, and communications issues on-site.
  • Oversee repairs, upgrades, and improvements to existing customer environments.
  • Act as Lead Engineer on major deployments and greenfield projects, supporting Project Managers throughout delivery.
  • Ensure installations are completed to agreed standards, timescales, and customer expectations.

Service Desk & Technical Support

  • Provide remote technical support via telephone, email, and remote access tools.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues relating to Windows servers, desktop operating systems, networking, and hospitality-specific applications.
  • Escalate complex incidents to senior engineers or third-party vendors when required.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service while managing support tickets effectively.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation, including configurations, asset information, and technical resolutions.
  • Assist with new client onboarding activities, including audits, migrations, and service transitions.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge base articles, technical documentation, and training materials.

  • Identify opportunities to improve customer infrastructure, service delivery, and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours support rota where required.
