My client is looking for an experienced Service Desk Manager to lead and transform the internal facing Service Desk function.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for someone who can deliver excellent service desk support while modernising the way service is provided.

The successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day service delivery and lead a programme of improvement across:

  • AI-enabled support,
  • automation,
  • portals,
  • knowledge management etc.

The Manager will ensure the Service Desk acts as the first point of insight into colleague's issues, emerging risks and opportunities to improve the service for this massive financial concern.

  • Leading the day-to-day operation of the Service Desk,
  • Ensuring consistently high-quality support for colleagues and management.
  • Introduce procedures to improve and modernise the Service Desk.
  • Evaluate, introduce and expand the use of AI, automation, chatbots, intelligent workflows and knowledge management.
  • Introduce service desk portals, knowledge bases and digital support channels.
  • Be the senior escalation point for complex or high-priority issues.
  • Look to improve quality, responsiveness and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Introduce SLAs, KPIs, customer satisfaction and operational performance.
  • Monitor identify trends and drive service improvements.
  • Train and supervise Service Desk team members, creating an excellent team environment.

To be considered for this role applicants need to have experience of:

  • Managing a Service Desk or Support.
  • A strong track record of modernising support operations using AI, automation and digital self-service.
  • Working with colleagues and being reactive to escalations.
  • Team leadership skills.
  • Stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A good understanding of service management principles and ITIL practices.
  • Strong awareness of AI tools, digital productivity platforms.
