Network Engineer / Data Center Network Support Engineer
Work Type - Contract Inside IR35
Location - London, UK
Rate - 180 - 200 GBP/Day
We are looking for a hands-on Network Engineer / Data Center Network Support Engineer to provide on-site technical support for network equipment, servers and infrastructure across data center and office environments. This is a great opportunity for someone with L1/L2 network support experience who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, hardware support and working closely with remote network operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site support for network equipment, servers and infrastructure.
- Support enterprise LAN, WAN and data center networks.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, hardware and configuration issues.
- Perform hands-on activities including cabling, racking, stacking and hardware replacement.
- Carry out smart hands activities such as power cycling, patching and device resets.
- Support network deployments, upgrades and transformation activities.
- Work with remote NOC and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, changes and on-site activities.
- Follow customer security, operational and change management standards.

Required Skills
- L1/L2 experience in Network Operations, Network Support or Data Center environments.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, routing and switching.
- Hands-on experience with routers, switches and firewalls.
- Experience working with network hardware and cabling.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow technical instructions from remote engineering teams.
- Ability to work independently during on-site activities and deployments.
- Willingness to perform hands-on data center activities.
