Support Engineer
Location: Glasgow
Rate: up to £200 per day
IR35: Inside IR35
Duration: Initial 12 months - High chance of extension
Working Pattern: 5 days on-site
We are currently recruiting for a Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support across end-user devices, IT hardware, and infrastructure environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Field, Desktop, or IT Support Engineer who enjoys working directly with users and providing practical on-site technical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, including operating systems, applications, and patches.
- Configure, install, upgrade, and provision end-user devices.
- Provide Hands and Feet / Smart Hands support to remote IT teams.
- Carry out hardware replacements, installations, cable management, and basic network troubleshooting.
- Support server room activities including racking and stacking, cable patching, and hardware inspections.
- Respond to incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs.
- Document issues and escalate unresolved problems to relevant support teams.
- Maintain accurate IT asset and inventory records.

- Proven experience in on-site, field, or desktop IT support.
- Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and mobile operating systems.
- Hands-on experience with hardware diagnostics, repairs, and installations.
- Understanding of LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
- Experience using ITSM/ticketing systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
