Support Engineer
Start Date: ASAP

We're partnering with SiXworks, a specialist digital innovation partner delivering secure, mission-critical technology across the Defence and National Security sectors, to recruit an experienced Support Engineer.

The Opportunity
As a Support Engineer, you'll play an important role in supporting and maintaining secure IT environments, providing both desk-side and remote support across a range of technologies.
Working closely with engineers, architects and delivery teams, you'll help ensure users receive an exceptional support experience while contributing to the reliability, security and continuous improvement of critical systems.
This is a varied, hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting technical issues, working collaboratively and continuously developing their technical expertise.

- Providing 1st and 2nd line technical support across users, devices and infrastructure.
- Managing support tickets, providing regular updates and escalating complex issues where appropriate.
- Delivering both desk-side and remote end-user support.
- Responding to monitoring alerts and assisting with incident management.
- Supporting Microsoft 365, Windows, MacOS and endpoint management environments.
- Maintaining accurate documentation within the ticketing system and knowledge base.
- Communicating incidents and planned maintenance to the wider user community.
- Supporting device provisioning, user onboarding and ongoing system administration.
- Occasionally travelling to customer or operational sites when required.
About You
We're looking for someone with a strong customer-focused mindset, excellent troubleshooting skills and a genuine passion for technology.
You'll also have:
- Experience supporting Windows 10/11 and MacOS environments.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration.
- Experience administering Azure, Entra ID or Active Directory.
- Exposure to Microsoft Intune or other endpoint management platforms.
- Experience provisioning end-user devices and onboarding users.
- Understanding of security concepts including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Conditional Access.
- Experience working with ITSM platforms such as Atlassian or similar ticketing systems.
- Strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach with a desire to continuously learn and improve.

Desirable Experience
- Windows Server administration.
- iOS and iPadOS support.
- JAMF or similar MacOS MDM solutions.
- Linux administration (Ubuntu/CentOS).
- Group Policy configuration and troubleshooting.
- Writing PowerShell scripts.

Security Clearance
Due to the nature of this role, applicants must hold active UK Security Clearance (SC) or be eligible to work within a Security Cleared environment if specified by the client.
