Role Overview
Do you want to make a difference to the standards of safeguarding in schools and are you an experienced safeguarding lead in a school or college? Then the role of Safeguarding Consultant could be the job you are looking for.
About the Role
The Education Safeguarding Team are seeking a new Consultant to support the delivery of safeguarding reviews in schools and the development and delivery of high quality training, support, and guidance for school leaders and DSL teams. This role is for 2 days a week, where one of those days must be a Thursday due to service requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with schools to support the delivery of safeguarding reviews
- Develop and deliver high quality training, support, and guidance for school leaders and DSL teams
- Collaborate with other agencies within the broader safeguarding system
- Represent the view of Education within multi-agency teams
Skills and Experience
We are looking for candidates who are able to:
- Challenge current practices in a professional and constructive way.
- Deliver initiatives for improving the service to schools and pupils.
- Lead and support staff to achieve a common vision and strategic direction.
- Work as part of a team and identify opportunities for working colleagues from other services.
Requirements
- Travel across the county will be required, as well as a willingness and availability to travel occasionally to schools elsewhere in the South East of England.
- An induction and training programme will be provided, but anyone considering this post should be confident in the delivery of training and secure in their understanding and experience of complex safeguarding issues in schools.
