Join our fantastic #TeamConnectsHub in Galashiels as a Support Practitioner on a permanent (35 hours per week) basis.
No previous experience is needed; if you're caring, compassionate and willing to learn, we'll provide all the training and support you need.
Our team and the individuals you'll support
You'll become part of a welcoming, fun and dedicated team supporting people both within our Connects Hub and out and about in the local community.
- You'll help them to take part in activities they enjoy, develop new skills and achieve their personal goals.
- From swimming to football and sensory activities to arts and crafts, you'll be part of creating fun and meaningful experiences every day.
This is a role where you'll build genuine relationships, encourage independence and make a long lasting positive impact on people's lives.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Caring and compassionate
- Positive, reliable and enthusiastic
- A good communicator and team player
- Willing to learn
- Confident using technology and basic computer skills
A full UK manual driving licence would be beneficial, but this is not essential.

Shift patterns
Our team typically provide support within the hours of 0800-1800 hours Monday to Friday, however we expect an element of flexibility to fit in with the people we support's needs and planned events, activities and outings that may fall out with these times.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.
Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
