Band 4 Support Worker - Forensic Psychiatry Community Service

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Support Worker to join the Forensic Psychiatry Community Service on a full-time, permanent basis.

About the Role

This rewarding role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of adults with complex mental health needs across Cambridgeshire. Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will provide ongoing support, therapeutic interventions, practical assistance, and problem-solving to service users under the supervision of a senior team member.

The Community Forensic Service delivers a 7-day-a-week service, supporting individuals in their recovery journey while promoting wellbeing, independence, and effective risk management within the community. No two days are the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working autonomously while building meaningful relationships with service users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with service users and the multidisciplinary team in an enthusiastic and conscientious way to ensure the delivery of high quality recovery focused care and support.
  • Engage with service users in a confident, compassionate, and non-judgemental manner, with a primary focus of enabling recovery, well-being, and independence.
  • Support adults with diagnoses of mental health conditions and/or learning disability who present with a risk of significant harm to others, to achieve optimal management of risk and minimize re-offending.
  • Adopt a compassionate and trauma-informed approach to promote relapse prevention and recovery, enabling individuals to realize their full potential and continue to live meaningful lives in the community.

About the Team

You will be joining an experienced team of professionals (psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists, support workers, administrators) who all share a passion and drive for delivering high quality care and treatment to service users with Forensic histories.

Working Hours

The service runs 7 days a week (8am till 8pm), excluding bank holidays, and will include shift work on a rotational basis.
