About the Role
This is a highly valued opportunity to make a meaningful difference within the local Nepalese community while working as part of a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team.
A full-time vacancy has arisen at Aldershot Centre for Health for a Nepali-speaking Support Time and Recovery Worker (STR) within the busy NEH Neighbourhood Mental Health Team, including the Clozapine Clinic based at Aldershot Centre for Health. Applicants must be fluent in both spoken and written Nepali and English.
Role Purpose
This role is vital in strengthening engagement with the local Nepalese community and improving access to mental health services. The successful candidate will provide education, support, and guidance to service users and their families, helping them navigate their care journey. The role will also involve attending clinical appointments to provide translation and interpretation support for individuals and their relatives when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Support, give Time to service users with a mental issue thus promote Recovery and maintain them in their community environment.
- To assist care co-ordinators in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individual care plans.
- Improve understanding of mental illness through education and promotional activities within the Nepalese community.
- Support people who speak Nepalese to access a range of talking therapies within the Neighbourhood teams and support integration into community services.
- Help staff to understand Nepalese culture and spiritual beliefs and how these influence engagement with mental health services.
- Act as an interpreter at appointments and telephone calls with Nepalese speaking service users, to give a continuity of support throughout appointments.

Working Environment
The post holder will work within a multidisciplinary team alongside Community Psychiatric Nurses, Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, and fellow STR Workers. In addition, full training will be provided to become a phlebotomist, supporting the delivery of services within the Clozapine Clinic.
The role includes working as a phlebotomist within the clozapine clinic and using the “Potchi” machine to assist reading the results and support other staff within the clinic.
The purpose of this post is to work as part of the Neighbourhood teams covering North East Hampshire and to focus on the direct needs of service users, working across boundaries of care, organisations, and roles.
Requirements
