This Role Requires

About You

Essential

• Must be able to work with specialist equipment (training will be provided). A Handling Management Plan is available and is designed to reduce the risk of handling injuries, but you may be required to bend, kneel, squat, push or pull.
• Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality and to respect Sebastian and his family's need for privacy.
• Confident and comfortable working in Sebastian's own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of him and his family
• Can demonstrate commitment and passion for meeting Sebastian's needs

• A full driving licence (endorsements to be disclosed) and able to drive the client's adapted vehicle.

Desirable

• Experience of working with young adults with special needs (This is preferred but enthusiasm, patience and willingness to learn is desirable).
• Experience of and qualifications in caring for young adults with severe disabilities.
• Experience of carrying out therapy programmes.
• Previous experience of using specialist equipment with disabled people.
• Previous experience of hoisting and use of specialist equipment with disabled people.
• Experience of carrying out physiotherapy and/or multi-sensory programmes.
• Experience of using specialist IT technology for severely disabled people.
• An interest in music.

ILS Case Management is the UK's leading independent nationwide Case Management company.

When a person’s life has been changed by injury, we address the practicalities. We work with children and adults who have had moderate or catastrophic, complex injuries. We assess individual needs and are able to provide a comprehensive Case Management and Rehabilitation Service designed to maximise independence. We are CQC registered and compliant with their standards.

Our Case Managers work closely with our Clients, and we carry out all the recruitment processes on behalf of our Clients; and will support you, from your initial telephone interview right through to arranging employer interviews, trial shifts and placement.

If you are successfully recruited, you will be employed directly by our client or their Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection. However, ILS will manage your day to day employment, providing you with the support you need to carry out your role. Working as a Carer or Support Worker for an ILS client means that you will have a dedicated Case Manager to oversee your client's care needs.
