About Grangemead
At Grangemead, a top-tier respite and emergency service for adults with learning disabilities located in Hailsham, we are looking for a passionate support worker to join our dedicated team. Our beautifully refurbished facility provides a warm, hotel-style atmosphere complete with ensuite accommodations and interactive sensory equipment to enrich our guests’ experiences.
What You’ll Do
We offer a fun holiday experience for both long and short respite stays, promoting life skills, independence, community presence, and opportunities for guests to forge new friendships. Our emergency services accommodate individuals facing challenging life circumstances such as safeguarding issues, homelessness, illness, bereavement, or the end of placement with caregivers.
As a support worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Administering medication
- Engaging guests in enjoyable activities
- Supporting guests with a wide range of support needs, from low-level support to high and complex requirements, including PEG feeding, managing behaviours that challenge, and providing moving and handling support
- Performing security checks
- Maintaining cleanliness to uphold Grangemead’s high standards, ensuring a safe environment for all guests

We are seeking candidates with the following skills:
- Ability to provide support sensitively and respectfully
- Ability to read and follow support plans for guests
- Ability to record accurate information
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Ability to support with medication administration, personal care, and other health-related tasks

Our Rotas
Our rotas operate on a 6-week rolling schedule, with Support Workers completing both early shifts from 07:30 to 14:00 and late shifts from 15:00 to 21:30 across all 3 teams. Please note this includes working 2 in every 3 weekends.
