About The Role

Standon Gardens Extra Care is looking for caring, reliable and hardworking individuals to join our dedicated Support Worker / Carer team.

In this rewarding role, you will primarily support people who live in their own apartments on site, providing personalised care and assistance while promoting independence, dignity and choice.

One of the benefits of this role is having one place of work for your entire shift, meaning there is no travelling between clients.

Standon is a forward-thinking and innovative local care provider, supporting people both in their own homes and in residential care. We are committed to providing high-quality, person-centred care in a safe and supportive environment, enabling the people we support to live as independently as possible while respecting their individual wishes.

The role offers a varied working pattern, so you will need to be able to work a range of shifts, with some starting as early as 7:00am and others finishing as late as 10:00pm. This may include weekends and bank holidays.

What We're Looking For

We're Looking For People Who Are

  • Compassionate: putting the people we care for at the heart of everything you do.
  • Hardworking and committed: approaching your role with energy, enthusiasm and dedication.
  • A team player: able to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
  • Trustworthy and reliable: dependable, punctual and consistent in your approach.
  • Flexible: willing to work a fair share of mornings, afternoons, weekends and bank holidays, as well as occasionally picking up additional hours when required.
  • Resilient: understanding that care work can be incredibly rewarding but can also be challenging at times.
  • A good communicator: confident communicating with the people we support, their families and colleagues, with good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experienced in care: previous experience in a caring role is preferred, although full training and support will be provided.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
