Our charity was founded in 1988 and we were one of the pioneers of the ‘Care in the Community’ agenda, enabling people to move out of long-stay institutions and live more fulfilling lives.

Since then, we’ve remained leaders in social care, providing bespoke support to thousands across the UK. Today, we support more than 2,600 people and employ 6,600 caring and committed colleagues across England and Scotland.

We have a proud history of breaking boundaries and are always looking for new ways to make a positive difference through bold ideas, innovative projects and impactful partnerships.

About the Supported Living Service

This is a mixed gender household - our ages range from 54-86. Albany bungalow has 3 lovely ladies that live there and Lyndhurst have two lovely Gentlemen and a lady. We have some challenges, such as physical disabilities, sight and speech impairment and can need support getting out and about, supporting us with medication and some personal care needs. The staff here are trained and familiar in supporting people with complex needs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

We are proud to be supported to be as independent as possible and having our rooms and living spaces personalised to us and who we are. We all enjoy different activities. We love parties and karaoke singalongs. We enjoy the theatre, cinema and going to concerts. We also enjoy lazy movie days at home. We enjoy baking and cooking and taking part in everyday household tasks. Some of us enjoy pamper sessions and having our nails done. Some of us enjoy gardening and we all enjoy getting out and about in our beautiful seaside town.

We aspire to be the best we can be, living life to the fullest and positive risk taking. We enjoy taking part in local activities and festivals, such as tree lighting ceremonies, church services etc. We are full of fun, we can be mischievous and love a joke or two. We are friendly and welcoming to everyone who meets us. We would enjoy spending our time with people who enjoy life and can have a laugh and a bit of fun. We would not like anyone who was loud and shouted or were aggressive as this would upset some of us.

There are 7 staff on shift at one time, generally 3 in Lyndhurst and 4 in Albany. We work a combination of shifts including: 8-3, 3-10, 8-10, waking night and sleep-in.
