Role Description
The Support Worker role at Independent Horizons is an on-site position based in Great Yarmouth. In this role, the Support Worker will support individuals with day-to-day living tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, household activities, and accessing local community services. The position involves promoting independence, safeguarding wellbeing, and supporting people to participate in social, recreational, and educational activities.

The Support Worker will:
- Maintain clear communication with individuals, families, and colleagues
- Keep accurate records
- Follow care plans
- Adhere to health and safety and safeguarding procedures
- Respond to any concerns or incidents promptly and professionally
- Collaborate with the wider care team to provide consistent, high-quality support

Qualifications
- Experience in Support Worker or similar care roles, with a focus on person-centered support and promoting independence
- Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build trust, listen actively, and interact respectfully with individuals and colleagues
- Knowledge of Safeguarding principles and practices, with a commitment to maintaining safety and wellbeing
- Basic Technical Support skills to assist individuals with everyday technologies (such as phones, tablets, or computers) when required
- Ability to work reliably on-site in Great Yarmouth, including potential shift, weekend, or holiday hours
- Understanding of health and safety in a care environment and willingness to follow policies and procedures
- Relevant training or qualifications in health and social care (e.g., NVQ/QCF or equivalent) are advantageous but not always needed
- Clear background checks and eligibility to work in the region as required by local regulations
